Thank you readers.
Dear Readers,
I've decided to indefinitely end this blog. I regret that this will disappoint many and excite some.
As Yeshiva Orthodoxy has grown, with more and more people in Lakewood talking about it, my identity is sure to be revealed.
I do not at all wish to make enemies with: the Roshei Hayeshiva all of whom I hold in high regard; and especially the Mashgiach towards whom I have an enormous personal admiration.
Sans their o.k., my participation is just not practical at this time.
I would have very much liked to continue and explore the many issues I feel passionate about: Cedarbridge; the vaad; the future of kollel; politics (local, world wide, yeshivish), etc.
To discuss Lakewood matters, and to show how Lakewood matters.
I have chosen the Yeshiva over the blog; cool air over enormous heat.
I enjoy writing, and furthering useful discussion. If an opportunity came my way in another venue for serious writing I might consider it.
Lakewood- the Yeshiva and the town- is for all Lakewooders to share in and enjoy.
Every person must become informed to what's really going on. Full and active communal participation- demanding transparency and accountability, are the way to go.
For now- I go. Thank you very much.

What's the point in leaving if you're just going to open another site?
Let me state this unequivocally: I have nothing to do with any other site!
Yeshiva World was a contributor to my site and now wishes to start his own. We don't even know each other.
If anyone else would like to start a similar site and have me link it, email me.
There is a need for them.
Thank you.
Are going to be too busy helping lichtenstein to run this blog?
We hate to see you go!!
I'm sad to see you go, but I can understand the situation that you are in.
Definitely quite a shame. Certainly understandable. I can imagine what it's like for you there in Lakewood, and the fear of being linked to this blog would elicit the same response from me. At the same time, because I don't live in Lakewood (though I have lots of shaychus and am there quite frequently), to be honest the most valuable part of your blog for me was the non-Lakewood stuff. The yedios you give about what's going on in the frum world, the yeshivishe world, in E"Y, etc. are unmatched and quite useful for me, and I assume for a large # of your readers. Perhaps you could consider either continuing this blog w/o the Lakewood reid (which I do realize is the part that's dear to your heart) or starting a new blog which people won't link to you so fast with just the non-controversial stuff? It would be a big to'eles for the oilam!
BTW - shkoyach for the plug! Hope the shver enjoyed! :)
did your treo break?
give yeshiva world all the advise he needs to continue your work
You should still be an anon contributer to yeshiva world or any other site that takes off
sorry to see you go. I hope you were not pressured to shut your doors. You had a good blog.
A very very sad day, just as this much needed site was taking off... please come back one day even in an other gilgul
say it aint so Joe
hate to see you go
i believe what is really the underlying reason for him shuttting down, is having his kids getting kicked out of school for running this blog if the konoyim find out.
Where you Fred the Baker from Dunkin Donuts?
He's making donuts in the Olem Emes.
Who is going to satisfy our Tayvos now?
:(
The real reason is the gimmel teves deadline is aproching
The real reason is, the wifi outside the eurv shutdown.
So dont write about Lakewood! I dont live in Lakewood, but read your blog to keep up with doings and events that are relevant to the Yeshiva world in general...
Why not just write about general events and news of interest to yeshivaleit....?
Where is this 'Yeshiva World' site?
Sorry to see you go.
A real sad day for Klal Yisroel. You brought many issues to the fore front, including that of the many suffering singles. You deserve credit for the good work you did.
And I just made your blog my home page!
Ahh...only the good blogs die young.

Hey! You know that the HAMODIA is looking for a Lakewood writer (news about Lakewood) The Yated's "Lakewood pages" is a big hit by the Vaad & RY's so lots of luck in your new endeavors.
I don't intend at this time to reveal your identity "TRUST ME" YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?"

You changed the style of your comments.
This blog does not anymore allow anonymous comments
now it does
OY VEY !!!!! Its very sad to see you go I saved myself the $1.25 a week now I have to buy and settle for the Yated
Why are you playing with the comments?
Thank you very much for this blog while it lasted.
B'hatzlacha in whatever medium you find to continue your writing. And I hope you do.
If some more people had the resolve that you have ,things would look different.
But,unfortuately it seems that even you yourself did not have the guts to continue.
I do not think that you appreciate the (good) influence blogs such as yours really have.
Chazor becha,chazor becha.....
And another one bites the dust. How sad that the tyrannical poilicies of the very institution you love caused you to shut down. As a previous Anon saidd, it was likely the fear of your kids being kicked out of schools and other rejection by the community that caused you to shut down. I can't blame you for that because you live in Lakewood. But I'm sad that the city that purports to be the center of Torah in America would create such fear in people of expressing their opinions. You seem fairly open minded. With the help of Hashem, you can rise above the close-minded community around you.
In Volozhin there were underground newspapers. So why not BMG undergound blogs ?
I thought you had one of the best blogs out there. Am very sorry to see you go. hatzlacha in your future endeavors.
lakewood emes will not receive any comments, as he doesn't allow annonomous-YET HE WOULDN'T REVEAL WHO HE IS!!!!!!!
Whatever you do, I wish you much hatzlacha.
PS:I only found and bookmarked you last week
And in Volozhin there were maskilim... Hamayvin yavin.
Good Move!
I'm excited!
At the rate this blog was going, it wouldn't be much different than the other blogs out there which makes the internet assur.
A blog without comments might work
nooooooooooooooooo
A free press is the mark of a healthy society. Without a free press a community can - and always is - repressed. You and all like you who live in self-enclosed Haredi communities that will not tolerate any free press are living in a society that uses Stalinist tactics: they need to know what's in your home, they need to know what you're thinking, they don't allow you to say what you think, they will tell you where to send your children to school etc. This was how the Soviet oppression began. I hope everyone will learn from this the deep dangers of Haredizm.

I see you would't publish my comment. Even the moderate voices of Lakewood don't allow for a free press. Just proves my point. But soon you will be a relic...
Ahh...only the good blogs die young.
I'm not dead. Just gone to sleep.
It's a pity. This was a great place to vent. And who knows? Perhaps something concrete would eventually emerge.
An idea: Why not just post news items without allowing comments, ala Instapundit? Anyone with an important comment could e-mail you, and you'd choose whether or not to update the post accordingly, again like Instapundit.

Is yeshiva world chief of staff?
btw: yeshivaorthodoxy is a great name!
Back to the cave. Bring a flashlight.
Lakewood used to seem pretty normal to me, not anymore. This is not the Lakewood of Rav Ahron Kotler, ztl.
Good luck.

Of course not. RAK did not want a community, just a yeshivah. That's the reason he wanted to open AWAY from NY. It's too bad NY came to Lakewood.

And its too bad the roshei yeshiva came to boro park/flatbush for shabbos, and stayed in houses that look like govoah's chinese auction.
Aich naflu hagiborim...
In light of the new irresponsible blogs which have developed as a result of YeshivaOrthodoxy closing down (FOR NOW)I call on evreyone to e-mail Aaron kotler or the Roshei yeshiva to let this blogger continue with out fear.

What are they? At least they will be something, hatzala purta.
How do I email the roshei yeshiva?
The blog did not last 5 months, nebach it had a promising future what a shame. Just as the best thing on the internet was taking of... the big boys took it of.
bmgguy stop speading crazy rumors, what made this blog good was it wasn't a gossip mill or a coffee room or parking lot.
When will someone fill the gap?
Yeshiva World is reporting that the hit BMG took by cancelling the auction came to almost $250,000. Any opinion on that? Are the numbers correct?
someone needs to start a lakwewood Forum
terrible terrible news... go away for a shabbos chanukah and come back to see that the only jewish internet influence has gone into hiding with all the other free thinking lakewoodites. I hope this wasnt a caving into pressure because it would be a true pity if they stuck you back onto the lakewood robot assembly line.
Its jan 3 and i still have internet.
Tell us the truth, who threatend you to close the blog.
One critique before you go.
Your postings were very informative and reflect a lot of work on your part, but you never should have allowed comments.
If you go back and read some of the comments regarding Lakewood politics, much of them are nothing but pure LOSHON HORAH and yeshivishe cynicism - trashing the yeshivah, it's hanhollah and the kollel lifestyle. I think you are doing yourself a favor by closing down and removing this michshal.
Torah Judaism does not believe in free speech. You are not free to say whatever you wish at someone else's expense. We call that Loshon Horah.
If you want to develop further as a writer maybe you can become a staff writer for the Lakewood Voice.
Maybe you should start talking Loshon Hora Mr. Annon.
Anon is just using "loshon hara" as a club to beat anyone who speaks out. Speaking about what the vaad and yeshiva are doing to the tzibur is very much l'toeles, and so is not forbidden as lashon hara.
Looks like www.yeshivaworld.blogspot.com has also went the way of the dodo.
Yeshiva world gone already?
No its not!!!
had a minor problem.
Thats it!

Now that the stadium is over maybe you could reconsider?
Lakewood arena plan falls through
Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 01/5/06
BY RICHARD QUINN
TOMS RIVER BUREAU
LAKEWOOD -- The township is pulling out of a plan to build a 7,000-seat arena next to FirstEnergy Park.
The $40 million to $50 million proposal to build an arena for a New Jersey Devils farm team was first revealed three weeks ago, but township Committeeman Robert W. Singer today said he is no longer supporting the idea because he can't guarantee how the township would fund it.
Last month, Singer optimistically said agreements to make the deal happen could be signed within 30 days. Today, Singer said he will officially ask the Township Committee to drop the plan because there are too many unanswered questions over whether Lakewood could afford potential affects on its taxes.
Two Devils owners also confirmed the project no longer has support.
Read tomorrow's Asbury Park Press for more on this developing story.
Now that the stadium is over maybe you could reconsider?
People suggested I send out an email.
Might be a feaseble idea.
Great news YO! It's definitely better than nothing. But it'll be such a hassle to maintain the mailing list, and lots of people don't want their inbox getting cluttered up with every post. Not to mention that my primary email address has my name in it, etc. Why not just make a blog and disallow all comments? Same as the email list but much more convenient for us and for you!
Agree with a yahoo group %100.
p.s. yeshiva world is on bein hazmanim
What happened to Yeshiva World?
Are there any other blogs that took the mantel of YO?

With all due apologies, please allow me to announce and publicize a new and hopefully vital Lakewood community program for music education and appreciation. This will be a fully funded and 100% halachically sanctioned program for the benefit of the youth and adult residents of the community.
For more information please go to:
New Lakewood Music Program
I urge you to complete the short survey there so that we can properly address the needs of the Lakewood Jewish Community. Your input is important!
