NRP admits kippa slackers

A National Religious Party (NRP) committee has ruled that traditional Jews who do not wear kippas on a regular basis may still join the party, providing they accept the partys platform.
Up until now only people who signed a form stating they abided by the Torah and perform the mitzvahs were permitted to join.
NRP Chairman Zevulun Orlev, who pushed for the aforementioned amendment to the partys charter along with Secretary-General Sar-Shalom Jerbi, said, This is a historic decision. The party assessed the situation on the ground and decided to incorporate a large segment of the population that is loyal to Jewish tradition and wants to see Israel as a Jewish state....
