Red Cross to recognize Magen David

Israel said it expected its Magen David Adom emergency medical service to be recognized by the International Red Cross by year's end, ending a decades-old dispute over the exclusion.
Switzerland will convene an international conference by December to consider adopting a third, nondenominational emblem for the Geneva-based movement, which currently recognizes only the cross and the crescent as symbols.
