Aaron Kotler, dart board

Face it: Aaron Kotler got the most thankless, face in the bulls eye, job in the Diaspora's frum community.

Whatever he does- yeah, perplexing & infuriating at times- he's bound to be attacked.

If he's innovative and aggressive, he's attacked for being too business like. If he were to be conventional and un ambitious he'd be excoriated for not bringing in the money. He's in a lose, lose situation.

Has anyone ever thanked him for the good he does?

So please consider all this and stop harassing him with anonymous emails. Quit calling him silly names. Stop painting him out to be the devil.

If he's doing something you disagree with: make an appointment and have a discussion with him; or go talk to one of the countless rabbonim out there.

That's the yiddish way.

I actually think he's done a great job for the institution. What I object to is what he's doing to the people in town.

Alot of good points - many here just vent their frustration at AK. ב"ה he is being matzliach. The truth is that the same way Blue Claws don't efect anyone (besides taxes) neither will the hockey stadium. So why is everyone up in arms that Yeshiva will make some money? - Many wonder how many comments are coming from the same person no matter how many cute names he picks for him self.

Besides taxes? That is the only think any cares about. I couldn't care less if the yeshiva was a corupt as the mafia, as long as it don't affect me. (and as long as they don't get busted and make a huge chillul hashem)

Do you realy think anyone cares about another staidum? Do you realy this will this have ANY effect on the ruchnius of the kehila? If the yeshiva get a good deal, kol hakavod. But if the residents get stiffed, after they voted the people in office, and get ignored when they need some askunus, you can't blame anyone for having tainos. Is it fair they are the ones who cause yeshivas candidates to win, and then can't get any coperation from the township?

Fine - I agree taxes are the most important issue - I just want to get to the point and agree that the so called michshol is bunk. Now about the taxes issue they claim that the revenue coming in from the retail space will cover it (houses don't count because even though they pay taxes but we have to pay their schooling etc. etc.). The way the deal is structered they have to build 100,000 s.f. retail space first then they can build 250 houses - and then again 100,000 s.f. retail space etc. Although I don't trust them on anything however they might be right on this - evenb a blind squirel finds an acorn once in a while. Perhaps Yudel Shain or someone could study it and give exact numbers how much it gonna cost us. Also if Yeshiva is in to make 200 million maybee they should pay the 25 million that the city has to pay for the stadium (the other 25 mil is from the county).

But if the retail buissness is never built (which is a very very real situation give the fact that the corporate park was never built either) we still get stuck with the tax burden!!!

B/c they are making it on our back, genius. As for the projected increases in ratables, that's all pie in the sky. It's what they claimed would happen after the BC stadium, but it hasn't happened. Not to mention the increased expenses to the township for administering the new area.

Again, the point is that they are making their money on the backs of the olam, by using the olam's political power, while at the same time claiming that voting for their candidates is all to benefit the olam. It's as two-faced as can be.

Guys, read this statement about "ratables" from Gov. Whitman's administration: http://www.state.nj.us/inaug/init.html#ending.

And this article from a Rutgers prof: http://www.greatswamp.org/Education/hamilton.htm

The whole idea that you increase revenue by increasing ratables is a huge huge mistake. Or deliberate dishonesty, in some cases. And this is not something that can be undone.

Do you realy think AK will take you seriously, or even speak to you. If so, you are as naive as they come. Try it yourself first before you recomend it to us please.

He doesn't claim to be in Bnei Brak from what I can tell. That's the profile of another contributor, unless I missed something.
