Breaking News: R' Yossel Burstyn
Mazel Tov! R' Yossel Burstyn was in court today, where he plea bargained. Pleading guilty to the sole count of obstruction of justice. He was fined sixty dollars.
He had spoken to HaRav Chaim Kanievsky, who told him not to plead guilty to a charge the Prosecutor told him to plead guilty to, since it was not truthful, being that R' Yossel did not commit anything.
The obstruction of justice count was for not listening to the Police officers command.

Mazel Tov - Mazel tov Reb Yossel did not bend to the pressure from AK and the Lakewood Vaad to plead guilty to assualt and ended up getting what he wanted. The way he was treated was a shanda. Now that all the news is coming out about Officer Menck this is no surprize. Kudos to the Lakewood Shopper and YW for leading the battle.
Mazel Tov Mazel Tov, Baruch Hashem he did not listen to the rosh yeshiva who said "I would just plead guilty to all the counts, (posibly years in jail with a prosecuter wo is a know nazi)and get it over with. Mahran Reb Chaim Kanyevsky does not know what a chillul hashem this is making, He never would what he said" Reb Chaim said not to say a sheker, that is the ultimate chillul hashem, not your vaad looking like a bunch of helpless "oisak betzurchai tzibur bemunah." Some goyim making a big deal is not a chillul hashem. Showing the yeshiva help only who it wants to is a chillul hashem, I'd like to see what whould be if one of the 5 r"h would not get of the hook in hours. Reb Elya Ber's pressure finally paid off, the chillul hashem is the way the roshei yeshiva brushed him off, so what if he is a bigger talmid chachum then us, we run lakewood ir hatorah.
I guess they did not want to come to the buffet dinner sunday not being able to answer the questions about Reb Yossel, money money money.
This episode really shows what our Vaad here is made of. Their priorities are not what the average person in Lakewood's priorties are. Last election I did not vote since I couldnt bring myself to vote for the VAAD's candidates but I didnt want to disobey the Rosh Yeshiva. I think next election I'm going to take ethe plunge

It is hard belive the vaad really understand the average persons plight (such as property tax)
They said to vote for cunlif as hakaros hatov. Hakaros hatov for what giving priority to vaad members and their freinds by the land deals? (he knows to much shmutz on us)
Next thing you know the Vaad will take credit for getting Reb Yossel off. AK and the Vaad are just there for their own good. Since the election fiasco the Vaad has not done anything to rebuild the trust of the tzibur. Perhaps they should rename to the Lakewood Mafia. It is time to call a spade a spade.
This case had nothing to do with the vaad with all due respect to R' yussel there is a way how to deal with police officers, you dont approach them while they are doing their job especialy if its got nothing to do with you.B:H r' yussel got off,but from the vaads point of view they r the ones who see the public officiald all day and are constantly cleaning evreyone else's mess.
The vaad is not cleaning any mess-they are looking out for nobody but themselves and what the yeshiva can gain.....
As a tzibur we need to overthrow these worthless selfish people and get some people with balls to take controll. NOBODY NEEDS A VAAD THAT CANT STAND UP FOR ANOTHER YID!!!!

The Vaad has lost all respect-they will have no say in future elections nor in any other issues in the lakewood kehila.

Now that Reb Yossel is free it is time somebody report all the behind the scenes what was going on. If you could belive the Vaad popularity went down since the election fiasco.
Could we put all the fighting behind us and lets sit down together and work things out why is evreyone so farbissen?

Lets not mention that the jerk cop pulled over bursztyn's cousin for "tailgating" at 20mph in a 35 zone said he was giving her a 5 point ticket for dangous driving, and for some reason after beating up r' yossel chagned it to a warning. Inocent cop huh?
we need to start a new vaad ASAP-one that will be there for the tzibur and not only for the yeshiva-the tzibur goes out and votes as directed by the now defunct vaad like sheep to be slaughtered-not knowing that they are ill advised and are only voting to hurt their already tight budget-while the yeshiva sits back and collects grants and kick backs from the elected ppl!!!!

WE NEED A VAAD WITH THE TZIBURS HEALTH IN MIND_THE YESHIVA HAS ENOUGH GVIRIM THEY CAN GET THE SAME $$ FROM WITHOUT HAVING TO HURT US ALL WITH HIGH TAXES!!
as i see it-the yeshiva/vaad is making the tzibur pay thousands more so they can get a few shekels-the math is just wrong!!!!
