Chief Rabbis: pray for rain

IsraelNN:

In response to the lack of rainfall in Israel, the country's chief rabbis have called upon all of Israel to "increase their prayers to awaken the mercy of Heaven to bring about rains of blessing."The call for increased prayer refers specifically to the addition of a special Aneinu prayer during the Shma Koleinu prayer during the silent Amida for those following the Ashkenazic tradition.
For those praying in accordance with the tradition of Jews from north African countries, Tikkun HaGesher will be recited this coming Sabbath, including the hymn, "Living G-d Open the Treasury of Heaven."
