Cleveland school one ups Lakewood
Before any Lakewooders distraught over the internet ban moves to Cleveland:

...Some of Appels children attend Mosdos Ohr HaTorah, a rigorously Orthodox school in Cleveland Heights, which requires parents to sign a pledge that they have no home access to the Internet. Exceptions are made for parents, like Appel, who need the Internet for work.
But when they enroll their children at Mosdos, parents must promise that computers equipped with Internet connections are strictly off-limits. Similarly, Mosdos parents pledge that they have no TV sets in their houses.
At a time when a nation of frustrated web surfers complain about the evils of the Internet, from offensive pop-up ads to scurrilous spam, Mosdos is actually doing something about it, say its parents. Its not a choice all Orthodox Jews make, but Mosdos educators insist their students do not suffer from their lack of experience with the Internet.
Mosdos has had its Internet ban for years, ever since the advent of the Internet, says Rabbi Shmuel Berkovicz, the schools Hebrew principal.
We feel that the filth the Internet has is just a click away, and it is against what we stand for, says Berkovicz. Therefore , we ask parents to pledge that their children will never be on the Internet.....

The lunacy is spreading.
Kol HaKavod to Mosdos! Any honest individual who has surfed the internet would not want their children near it.
Who would allow their children an unsupervised visit to a scientific research laboratory where along with vast storehouses of knowledge that can be accessed by simply opening select doors they can also be bombarded by deadly radiation by opening others? No parent who really cares!

The issue is not keeping children from the internet; on that most people agree. The problem with these "takanos" is that they target *the parents*, not the kids.
oNCE A SCHOOL KNOWS THAT THEY CAN CONTROL THE PARENTS BY THREATNING TO EXPELL THEIR CHILD THEN THERE IS NO END TO WHAT THE SCHOOL CAN DO IN THE FUTURE TO BLACKMAIL YOU IN TO ANYTHING.
I KNOW A CASE IN A CERTAIN SCHOOL WHERE THEY MADE THE PARENTS INSTALL A HIGHER MECHITZAH AROUND THIER SWIMMING POOL OR ELSE THEIR DAUGHTER CAN NOT COME BACK TO SCHOOL.
iSAW THE MECHITZA . IT WAS KOSHER LECHOL HADAYOS BUT THERE WAS ONE SICK KANOYI ON THE BLOCK WHO RAN TO THE JEWISH AUTHORITIES AND MADE A STINK ABOUT It AND IT COST HIM MORE than 3,OOO DOLLARS TO HAVE IT RAISED UP .
DO YOU WANT THEM COMING INTO YOUR HOUSE ON A *WALK THROUGH* before they give you an answer on whether your child is accepted to thatschool or not?
Do you want them asking you which mikva your wife goes to?
If this continues this way i guarentee you that it will happen.
Hey, what's to stop them from "assuring" computers altogether? I have no doubt that is their next step; it has already been implemented in Gottlieb's own school.

Yes G. speigal is a big time Toen.
He was very involved in getting that wacko Gottlieb from israel.
But g. speigal is a very very normal guy so i am not quite sure how he fell for him.
