Plane crash victim settles suit

NY TIMES:

A Brooklyn woman who was the sole survivor of a 2001 helicopter crash in the Grand Canyon in which six people died has settled a lawsuit involving the tour company, the pilot and the helicopter manufacturer.
A lawyer for the woman, Chana Daskal, 29, said yesterday that a confidential agreement had been reached in the lawsuit stemming from the crash near Meadview, Ariz. Lawyers for the helicopter manufacturer, Eurocopter, in Texas, and officials with the tour company, Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters, in Las Vegas, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Ms. Daskal, a mother of two, lost both legs and suffered severe burns when the helicopter crashed into a cliff during a tour. Her husband, David Daskal, and four traveling companions were killed, as well as the pilot, Kevin Innocenti, 27, of Nevada. Pilot error was blamed in a report last year.(AP)
