Rav Eliyashiv,no Movies on flights

In a letter dated kislev 5766:
Rabbis Elyashiv and Wozner issued a strong statment reguarding showing a movie during a flight saying"one must do all in his power to object to it and to make sure that it not be shown".

They are mainly referring to flights to eastern europe, where there is actually an option of various frum charters which do not have movies.

Ask your local posek before deciding to stand up on the Air Canada flight (for example) and demand that they stop the movie.

Why can't the frum yid wear blindfolds the whole trip so he: won't have to watch the movie, and look at all the nakedeg women on the flight.

The next demand will be to ban all women on flying altogether or having a segregated flight and maybe have shiurim instead of radio music.

I can't close my eyes, I have to see who else is watching

I think the boredom level is too high... whenever the whitebeards get too bored, we get another letter.

Insanity level has reached its peak.

I don't think that "the white beards are bored" that is disgusting your distain for people greater then you could ever imagine to be, is a shanda
The problem is that some travel agent with an excluse to the kosher flight decided to "inform and make aware of this and its ruchnius ramification" to the gedolim. Once this like the cellphone are more about money (on behalf of the askonim) that kedushah.
However the gedolim are right about the letter.

"eika darcha achrina nikrah rasha"

Sorry, but standing up and making a scene on the plane is not called "ika darka acharina" by me. Just look away; learn a sefer; take a nap; whatever.

Besides, not every movie is forbidden to watch; it depends what they're showing.

From last Saturday's Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live:

"New York City officials said Tuesday that they had identified two new cases in which infants were infected with herpes during a circumcision ritual in which the practitioner, or mohel, sucks the blood from the circumcision to clean the wound. Added the officials, 'Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to barf forever.'"

"Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow."

I was dazed for a moment when my eyes were drawn to the underlined "l'hakel". When I read it carefully i realized they probably meant to underline the preceding "shelo" as well.

There is a rumor going around in Israel that the Holy Banners want to Ban women from driving cars.
I wish that were true but not for the reasons the rabbonim are giving . Hamavin Yovin

"the Holy Banners want to Ban women from driving cars."

Then we'll be altogether like the chassidisher, which seems to be the kanoim's ultimate goal.

"Then we'll be altogether like the chassidisher, which seems to be the kanoim's ultimate goal. "

It is sad how much truth there is to that statment, look at who was in the front of the shaitel issue, people who hold it is assur from a tznius standpoint.
LeHalacha these people get a din of a nogaia bedavar. they learn the sugya to come out with a predetermined maskana.
