Sharon orders shabbos halt

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has renewed a directive prohibiting the Israel Electric Corp. from setting up a power line above a major traffic artery on Shabbat - the second time he has withdrawn permission for the work in the last few months.The electric company was slated to carry out the work above Route 4, in the Moshav Ganot area, on Saturday.
A similar directive that Sharon issued two months ago, in the wake of ultra-Orthodox opposition to the Sabbath construction, drew political criticism.
